The Self-Starter

For two years in a row Dylan has taken on "the race across the sky" in order to challenge himself to the core and at the same time raise funds for Alpine Initiatives. The Leadville Trail 100 Ultramarathon is widely regarded as one of the most grueling foot races in the world. It consists of 100 miles of running over mountains, through rivers and takes most people well over 24 hours to complete. Not Dylan. Dylan ran this race for the first time in the summer of 2010 and not only was it his first time on the course, but it was his first 100 mile ultramarathon ever. He placed 3rd in the race, amazed the running world and managed to raise over $5,000 for AI by collecting donation pledges from his friends and family on a per mile basis.
