Backcountry Initiatives

Alpine Initiatives, Paragon Guides and Mountain Safety Logistics have combined resources to offer a workshop designed to cultivate the skills necessary to inspire adventure while discovering reverence for the mountains.

The most successful adventures are usually well prepared for. This workshop in the Vail Valley for those in high school will began building a solid foundation for backcountry travel and skiing. It will focus on how to plan an adventure and how to respond when the unplanned arises. Each participant will leave the workshop with new skills and knowledge of trip logistics, mountain travel techniques, avalanche awareness, survival and medical response skills.
