AI Diva Day
After Alpine initiatives' first Diva Day initiated in Chamonix in 2010, another successful Diva Day was held in Steamboat Springs, Colorado! 20 divas left their cars at home to participate in a full day of mindful and physical activities.
From snow sports such as nordic, skate skiing, and snowshoeing to meditation, yoga, and Zumba, divas enjoyed a fully balanced day. They learned about each others' talents and passions, and about sustainable initiatives lead by local women visionaries and AI projects in Kenya and Madagascar. Divas chose between 3 local sustainable projects to donate all the proceeds of the day to the Zero Waste program sponsored by local public schools. The Zero Waste Initiative aims to keep ALL waste from large events out of landfills.
The divas received nutrition and health tips from accomplished local skiers and ski patrolers. Delicious food, beverages, an amazing venue, and goodies were all donated and given to the divas, reflecting the generosity and compassion of the Steamboat community. Everyone left feeling very grateful and inspired to further contribute to the sustainability of their community and ready to "share the love" on Valentine's Day!
