The Blue Dot Tour

David Suzuki is a bit of a legend in Canada. He’s most well-known for teaching us about the natural sciences on The Nature of Things on CBC, but he’s also a well respected scientist and environmentalist with an impressive resume that includes author, University professor, radio broadcaster, documentary host and avid activist. His latest project, the Blue Dot Tour, aims to bring individuals together for an evening of music, learning and stories of inspiration in the hopes of promoting every individuals’ right to breathe fresh air, drink clean water and eat healthy food. The Blue Dot tour hopes to encourage Canadians to take action to create and lobby for healthier communities, cities, provinces and a healthier nation as a whole.

The line-up for the Blue Dot tour varies depending on the city stop. There are 26 events in total, with the first show having been on September 24th in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Just a few of the famous Canadians volunteering their time include: Metric, Neil Young, Margaret Atwood, Jim Cuddy, Greg Keelor, Feist and Bruce Cockburn. I’m holding out for Bieber but I guess Margaret Atwood will do.

The final evening of the tour finishes in Vancouver with Neil Young, Feist, Hey Ocean, Raine Maida, Raffi and more. To learn more about the schedule of events, how to volunteer or to donate, check out the Blue Dot tour website.
