Concrete mixing

We finally finished digging out the trench for the foundation.  I was very happy to move on to something else until we started mixing the concrete manually... Most of the workers here know English but because of our different accents, it is still a bit hard to communicate with them.  I would say that they are very similar to the construction workers and landscapers I have worked with in the past in north America.  Half way into the first day, Mikey made a comment about how impressed he was that none of the workers were smoking cigarettes, sure enough, 10 minutes later 3 of them were lighting up.  Instead of coffee breaks, we have tea breaks and instead of Copenhagen, some of them chew "mera", a plant that is grown in many parts of Africa.
